My brother is on American Idol today
My brother Adam is going to be on American Idol Season 8. Perhaps I’m biased, but I think he should win.
It’s already a done deal, really. The rest of them should just go home. A-M-E-R-I-C-A-N I-D-O-L contains the word ‘Adam’ first of all, and unless there’s a guy competing this year named Ericn Iol, I really think that he’s got this thing locked up. Plus, the world greets Obama and Adam on the same day. Coincidence? Not a chance.
I encourage all of you (5 people who read this) to watch at 8pm PST on Fox. It’s gonna to be grand. Feel free to add your comments about his performance to this post so I can ride his coattails to e-fame. I’m a social network climber, big deal.

your brother is the only reason I’m watching this shitastic season! and thankfully, him being on idol has also brought me to one of the funniest blogs I’ve read in a while so kudos to him for having a cool bro like you and being a kick ass singer/performer.

Neil…Your a great writer! Being introduced by way of ‘the coat tails’ is a good thing…hopefully your writings can help strike home to a larger audience now what is actually happening in the world. Adam will soon embark on a journal of surpassing all music legends…His talent is amazing…you both come across as good kids, don’t ever forget who you are now…the best to both of you.

as many I found your blog by reading about Adam…
at first I had only a taste of your writing without knowing where to find it ( I wanted more), thanks for agreeing to have your blog address published, now I can get it …and I love it
as much as I wanted to find out more about Adam as a person, I wanted to know and “meet” people who love him, and were and are part of his life before idol (I’m a firm believer that big part of who you are depends on who’s around you , your life experience as happy or as bizarre and messed up as it could be)
more power to both of you to be different, yet remain close to each other
I wish you both great happiness (don’t want to call it success, you’ll both know what’s best for Neil and for Adam)
and I want to thank you for coming into my life (as insignificant as it is to you, it is inspirational to me – you must be laughing)
I found a lot of my own strength which I had put away for a while and both of you got me back on track
being “American transplant” from Europe I think I got lost trying to fit in too much (with a great success, but at the same time deep personal cost)
thanks for keeping it real and putting new spin on my life

Hi,
It is necessary to start my comment with the reason that introduced me to your writing, your brother Adam Lambert, no surprises there! However I have read your warning points about not relaying messages to him and all, don’t worry this is not about that!
I am actually writing to you because I read your blog posts and I must say I was very impressed! Indeed your family seems to be very talented:) I can’t really say how this coming from me is much of a compliment seeing as how I don’t claim to be a writer let alone talented!
My question, yes there is one, is regarding the name of your blog “negativeneil”. I was wondering if you would like to share what made you choose this name?
Oh and I would like to add I am from Pakistan and quite an avid fan of American Idol and of course Adam.
Best of luck and keep writing!

Neil:
I am following your instructions by leaving my comments on this post. I do enjoy your entire blog and will continue reading.
Your brother has changed the face of American Idol and is the primary reason that our expectations as viewers of this show will never be as they were. I have never voted so frantically as I am now for your brother. The weekends are now just like Mondays, its Tuesday I look forward to.
I cheer and clap when he rocks the house, and tear up when he takes it slow. Hes like watching a brilliant painting come to life.
I have never bought an idols music, but I will be first in line for his cd’s and tickets to all his concerts. What a treasure your parents have created. Thank God he auditioned, he has touched the worlds soul with his voice.

This is a great site! Sure, the fans came looking for news of Adam but they’ve found his equally charming brother posting on the web.
I love your snarky attitude. I’ve worked in retail.. we have this saying “I no longer fear Hell. I work in retail.” and its SO TRUE!
I’m sure your ‘rents are equally loving and supportive of their obviously well loved sons. The way a person presents themselves is a reflection of how their parents treated them. I’ll be checking back on your site for more news from you.
May you and yours never forget the love of family which holds everything together. Its the glue of life, as I call it.
